CERTIFICATE COURSE ON STUDY AND REPAIR OF ELECTRONIC APPLIANCES
Objective of the course
- Enhancing basic knowledge about electronics to non-science students
- Making them to handle and repair electronics gadgets
Syllabus
Unit I
Passive elements: study of passive elements like Resistors, Capacitors, Inductor. Ohm’s law, series and parallel combination of electronic components, I-V characteristics of each element. Variable resistors: rheostat, potentiometer, thermistor, photoresistor, Heating effect, power rating, thermocouple. Working of capacitor and inductor in AC and DC circuits.
Unit II
Active elements: DC and AC power supply, generators, oscilloscope, stabilizer, transistor, diode, IC. Detailed study of different types of transistor and diode, their uses. Studying I-V characteristics of diode. Opto-electronic components. Studying in detail different types of LED available in market, LDR, Photocells, LCD. Studying different types of transformers available in market.Testing of different electronic components.
Unit III
Measuring devices: Voltmeter, Ammeter, Multimeter, Cathode Ray Oscillator. Testing devices: Tester, PCB(Printed Circuit Board),Types of soldering, fuse, circuit breaker, studying different gauges of copper wire, working of electric meter box, identifying short circuit and overloading
Unit IV
Electrical Appliances: Identifying fault in the circuit, repairing of gadgets like regulator, tube light, mixer, T.V.
