The Department of PG Studies in Mathematics at Alva’s College was established in the year 2009. We are dedicated to excellence in teaching and community engagement. A Post Graduate Degree in Mathematics from Alva’s college opens doors to wide array of career paths. Fully fledged Department: The department totally has 5 Lecturers who are very dedicated towards teaching.
Departmental Library: The department has more than 150 books of Mathematics in the department apart from the main library.
Add On Courses: The department offers add on course which acts as supplementary to the curriculum.
Add On Courses Offered: VEDIC MATHEMATICS and QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE & LOGICAL REASONING.
Student Faculty Program: Students of the final year who are interested in teaching are given an opportunity to work as a part time faculty in the college.

Eligibility

Candidates who have passed the three year B.Sc. degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with Mathematics as major/optional/special subject are eligible for the programme provided they have secured a minimum of 55% (50% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in Mathematics.
