Introduction
The Department of Chemistry launched its journey in 1998 as General subject. Currently it is running ahead with several subjects in combination such as Physics, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology along with Microbiology, to educate the local as well as foreign students to reach the poor people of society. By which the education level of the poor familiar was enhanced by making available at very minimum economic conditions. There is demand amongst students for opting Chemistry as Honours subject. There are at present Around 250 sanctioned seats for including various mentioned combinations. There are 3 full time teachers (College sponsored) in the Department. The Department has produced innumerable students throughout the years. Many students of the Department have established themselves in various sectors, especially as accomplished teachers in various Schools and Colleges, MNC’s, Research, Pharmaceuticals, etc and keep touch with the Department as Alumni. Chemistry has raising interest in the daily life of all people to create an awareness chemistry as one major subject is introduced. Besides teaching, the Department organizes extension activity, industrial visits, workshops, a bridge to industrial knowledge, guest lectures class wise seminar, debate and prepares students for Quiz competition and Group discussion, so that they can keep pace with the time. Consequently, students get through the final examination with flying colours every year and go for further higher studies.
