UNDERGRADUATE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS
Introduction:
The department of economics was started in the year 1998, when the college was established under the able leadership of Prof.Shankar Patali. The department offered its services to the students of BBM, Bcom, BA-HRD and BA.
At present the department is having five permanent appointees. Mrs. Harinakshi is functioning as Head of the Department from 2017 onwards.

- To produce excellence in higher education imparting noble and innovative thoughts converting it into a platform for cultural performance and a seat of high learning and to help in achieving national integration.
MISSION:
- An innovation and experimentation in new areas of knowledge.
- An Endeavour to achieve and perform world view.
- To provide need based education especially employability.

- Department library with books, question banks, old question papers, referrals.

DEPARTMENTAL ACHIEVEMENTS:
- Academic: Average 95 % results every year, with 5 university ranks in the last 5 years.
- Students undertake minor Research projects as a part of their curriculum. Students presented their papers and National level conferences.
- As a part of the extension activity students participated in the construction of check dams.
- Department organizes Industrial visit to the students every year.
- Department organizes Guest lecture by eminent resource persons every year.
- Students have participated in various competitions conducted by different colleges of Mangalore University and won Prizes.
