She was addressing students in a Guest talk on ‘’Scripting for Media and challenges’’, organized by Alva’s PG and UG studies of Journalism, on Thursday, at PG Seminar Hall, in Vidhyagiri.
‘As a Journalist you would be asked to work about all kinds of situations and events. So you need to have strong basics in writing’, she stated. Mailankondi added and said, ‘Accuracy, reliability, clarity of words and utilizing 5 ‘W’ and 1 ‘H’ are the key factors in scripting’. Students were discussed various news scripts appeared in the newspaper, highlighting the importance of scripting. The session not only increased quest for knowledge among children, but also got them hands –on experience in developing different kinds of scripts. Students’ queries were efficiently answered in the session.
