MCA – MASTER OF COMPUTER APPLICATIONS (AICTE Approved) from 2026-27
The Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is a two-year postgraduate programme designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in Computer Science and Information Technology. The programme provides a comprehensive understanding of software development, programming, database management, networking, web technologies, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies. Through a balanced blend of theoretical learning, laboratory practice, project work, internships, and industry interaction, students develop strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities required to address real-world challenges. The curriculum is designed to meet the evolving needs of the IT industry and prepares students for successful careers in software development, system administration, data analytics, research, and entrepreneurship. The programme also emphasizes innovation, professional ethics, communication skills, and lifelong learning, enabling graduates to become competent professionals and responsible contributors to the digital economy.
The programme is designed to provide value-based education at an affordable fee.
Eligibility
Candidates who have passed a Bachelor’s Degree examination of a recognized University with not less than 50% marks in aggregate of all the years of the degree programme (45% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates of Karnataka) are eligible for admission. The candidate should have studied Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Computer Programming/ Business Mathematics/ Business Statistics as one of the optional/elective subjects at the degree level.
Admission under the Government Quota is based on the performance in the entrance examination conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), and the selection of candidates will be made by KEA as per the prevailing Government regulations.
