SCOPE
The students to approach the cell for their grievances regarding academic matters, examination matters, financial matters, health services, library and other services.
OBJECTIVE
To provide a mechanism to students of the college to air out their grievances and to provide redressal for the same so that they have smooth tenure at the college from the day of admission to their graduation.
GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL COMMITTEE
As per the AICTE regulations 2019 vide F. No. 1-101/PGRC/AICTE/ Regulation/2019 dated 07.11.2019, Alva’s College (Autonomous) has established a structured Online Grievance Redressal Mechanism to ensure a transparent, fair, and accountable academic environment. The college maintains a dedicated Students Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC), chaired by the Principal and including an Ombudsperson, convener, faculty members, student welfare officer, and a student representative, which is mandated to address concerns from students, faculty, and other stakeholders.
- Submission & Scope: Stakeholders can submit grievances online through the official grievance form covering issues such as admission irregularities, fee-related matters, academic evaluation, or harassment.
- Process & Timeline: Upon receipt, the committee acknowledges the complaint and schedules a hearing—communicating its decision typically within ten days of the meeting.
- Resolution & Escalation: The mechanism is designed for speedy disposal, generally within one month, and provides for further escalation to an Ombudsperson appointed by the University if the aggrieved party is not satisfied with the institutional decision.
This system reflects the institution’s commitment to procedural fairness and confidentiality as prescribed in the AICTE Approval Process Handbook.
