Established in 2001, the Department of Food Nutrition and Dietetics (FND) has been at the forefront of academic excellence, for the past 25 years. Over the years, our alumni are working as Clinical Dietitians in reputed hospitals, Quality controllers/ Food Safety Manager in Food Industries, Sports Nutritionists, Health and wellness coach, Freelance nutritionists at State, National and international level. We have established a proven track record of securing premier rankings year after year. We provide a vibrant academic ecosystem which includes workshops and seminars, interaction with experts, extension activities to apply classroom knowledge to real-world community health, competitions that foster innovation.
In order to meet the highest national standards for professional practice in the healthcare sector, the department is offering Bachelors in Nutrition and Dietetics (Honors) aligned with NCAHP (National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions) guidelines under One Nation, One Curriculum model. This program is designed to master a fascinating and vital discipline that sits at the intersection of science, health and human well-being.
Bachelors in Nutrition and Dietetics is an essential science dedicated to enhancing the quality of life. Our curriculum goes beyond traditional physiological and biochemical studies to explore the fundamental role of nutrients in maintaining lifelong health and master the art and science of disease management through targeted nutritional therapy as well as feeding individuals for peak health.

Higher secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination with minimum 50% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English

Departmental Activities
Outreach Programmes
Every year department is conducting outreach programmes on account of World’s Breast Feeding Week Celebration, National Nutrition Week Celebration and International Women’s Day. Active participation of the students in these programmes results in better learning.
Research
In order to get research knowledge among students, they are assigned with mini projects like community survey, ICDS scheme, Mid meal programme, assessing the nutritional status of Adolescent and counseling etc.
Extension
Every year department is conducting extension activity on account of World’s Breast Feeding Week Celebration, National Nutrition Week Celebration and International Women’s Day at various Anganwadi centers, Govt. Schools and Govt. Hospitals. Active participation of the students in these programmes results in better learning.
