NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME
National service scheme is an Indian government sponsored programme under the department of youth affairs and sports of the government of India. It was launched in Gandhiji’s centenary year,1969 aimed at” developing student’s personality through community service
National service scheme is an experiment in academic expansion. It infused the spirit of voluntary work among the students and teachers through continuous community interaction. It bring academic institutions closer to society. NSS unity of ALVAS DEGERR COLLEGE, has been started in the year 2001, volunteers involved actively in both special camp and regular camp activities.
THE MOTTO
The motto if the NSS is the “NOT ME BUT YOU” this express the essence of alemoeratic living and upholds the need for selfless service and appreciation of the other man’s point of view and also to show consideration for follow human beings. It underlines that the welfare are of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of society as a whole.
OBJECTIVES OF NSS

To develop students personality through community services.

To develop awareness and knowledge of social realities.

To have a concern for the well bring of the community ; particularly of the weaker sections.

To engage themselves in creative and constructive social work.
