Introduction

In today’s world, there is lot of scope for journalism. It is a profession preferred by most of the youths. Nowadays, It is valued equally as other recognized professions like doctors and engineers.

 

Importance

This profession plays a vital role in the society and keeps the people updated. The Chairman of this particular institution, Dr M. Mohan Alva, introduced this subject (Mass communication and Journalism) as a course under arts disciplines to bring about practical knowledge and skills to the students.

 

Scope

Journalism subject has a lot of scope. This includes various fields like advertisement, public relation, Translation, Reporting, Anchoring, Photo Journalism, Video production, technical writing, copy editing, animation, cartooning, freelancing, documentary making, film production and so on.

Alva’s Education Foundation introduced Journalism course in the year 2002-03, with the vision of imparting better education in the media field with the practical knowledge. At present Journalism is being taught as an arts subject with the combination of EJP,EJH,EJB,CBJ
